So perhaps there is a way with the interface box goterps develops. Without wanting to detract too much from goterps' thread, I do understand that owners out there 'want to keep it oem' and thus keep the DSP. I then point you to after that ! the DSP setup is feeble in it's RMS power output, the speakers themselves were dire when new and the overall sound wasn't all that and current cheaper budget aftermarket speakers sound better! I'm wondering if it's worth all that time spent to integrate with such mediocre sound performance if it is done?! With the advancement of things like Android and iBus interfaces etc, perhaps somewhere there's a route to integrate aftermarket electronics to the DSP amp. I think it's 'possible' for sure, but most likely a real pain in the butt to get working - hence why no one, including manufacturers etc have done it in the last 15 years or so since the first DSP unit's appeared in E39's.

By the end of this year, all of the analogue TV transmissions will be switched off, rendering them useless and a later E53, E46 hybrid Analogue/Digital DVB-T oem tuner can be rettofitted at around £400-600 ($625-$1000 USD approx). Also, as you are in the USA, could you list the part number for your TV tuner? here in the UK, all cars with this setup got an Analogue TV tuner capable of picking up free-to-air analogue TV transmissions. So it's my understanding that the GPS computers which are mk3 and mk4 are the modules which 'drive' the monitor itself. However, in all the threads I've seen, the setup with the monitor in an E39 (E38, E53 and E46 as they all use the same setup!) has the GPS computer. 740iL - I focus on aftermarket car audio as I find the oem stuff is very mediocre in performance so I'm not fully knowledgeable about the oem setups.
